Therapy BEFORE Ankle Replacement

As I have mentioned elsewhere, I recently had a very successful tar. I credit part of the success to the physical therapy I had BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER the procedure. Has anybody else had a similar experience?

    Hi

I am 12 weeks post surgery with TAR

previous to this i had a sub tailor fusion 12 months ago

with the fusion i was in hospital for 5 days and the pain was horrendous

and i really struggled with walking for 12 months

prior to the TAR they took out the screws of the fusion

i was in hospital 1 night out the next day the only pain relief i needed

was Paracetamol i was fully weight bearing after 6 weeks my only issue is at present

is the tingling of pins and needles but my surgeon said they will go in time

i am now back at the gym mainly doing core but find that the cross trainer is good

    as it menouvers my ankle

this TAR has definitely took away a lot of pain and i have more movement in my foot

    good luck
