There is hope.

I was diagnosed with panic disorder 6 years ago. I fought against the idea of using meds until January of this year. I started off on 50mg of sertraline for 2 weeks and then my dose was up to 100mg. I have now been on 100mg for nearly 8 weeks and i have reached the light at the end of the tunnel. I have finally been feeling normal and like my old self again. I feel excited to do things and don't have all these anxious thoughts rulling my life. I enjoy my days and finally feel free from this prison of anxiety and panic. I wanted to post this to give hope to those starting out or who are too afraid to continue treatment from the inicial side effects. My first 4 weeks were a living hell. But slowly it all went uphill. Please keep your spirits high and try to find the right dosage. It does work if you are patient. Good luck all.

Maria,  Thanks so much for the encouragement.  I am hoping the same for myself.  Right now I even have to take about 3 xanax each day to cope.  Love hearing about your great progress.  Sue

    HI Maria,

what a fantastic words of encouragment. I am on Sertraline 100mg for many yeras, unfortunately I ate a very bad sushi and from that bad feeling of vomiting and diaria and to top it had urine infection and prescribed Antibiotic fro 7 days - it is through me back to panic attacks.

My doctor increased my dosega to 150mg on 19th of March and since that I had an awful 3 weeks, got worth, shaking, head is not clear, panic attacks and unrest and anxity. Last cople of days I feel that I am getting culmer but I feel all kind of reactions in muy head and tiredness. Did you feel the same until it is started better and better? I am working alot just not to think and coping the best I can, your answer wil be highly appreciated.

The side effects you are describing are exactly what I experienced when I increaed my sertraline dosage.  Just now after 4 weeks at this amount are they beginning to subside and I am noticing a positive change.

Keep the fairth and try and hold out to allow yourself to adjust to the increase.

I hope tomorrow is a better day for you than today was.
