There's no light at the end of the tunnel.

I have worsened since you have last heard of me,  I am never happy, I am always tired, I can never seem to find a way to put up with these feelings.  It seems that every path I take leads me to nowhere,  I have no hope and I know I don't have a future. I do poorly in school,  I can never focus.   The pain and emptiness never goes away no matter what I do to get help.  I have gone to therapy and it still did not help.   And quite frankly, I feel like I am better off dead than alive.

Hi Jared - sorry to read of your situation. Were you prescribed any meds?

I understand that feeling well.  So what do I do, since i'm not ready to check out, I went to doc and said OK i was bloodwork for B12, Folate, and A1c tests.  This feeling of hopelessness could and often is because our bodies are lacking essential minerals and vits and we don't even know it.  Low vits along with magnesium can make you feel as tho you don't want to get out of bed and your mind goes down that negative path to keep you in bed and feeling down.

I suggest some blood work and also music, playing cards (solitaire lifts my mood cause it keeps my mind off my depression), books with short stories and more music.  The best way for me to get myself "out of the blue and into the black" is listening to Neil Young and Bob Dylan.  Keeping your mind busy is so important and do what you did here -- reach out to anyone and try the hell to find something to laugh about.

All this is easy to say but I know now easy to do but with a bit of effort, you can do it and believe me it gets better.  You can make it better by just taking baby steps in your lifestyle.  Get a pet (birds that sing and talk are great).  Think about the good things and begin to train your mind not to go down the negative path -- when it starts just tell it no I'm not going there -- I'll think of something else.

Good luck and keep coming here.  We're all int he same boat but we are not going to allow it to sink.

There's nothing that can be done to save me, I'm already gone inside.  All that is left is just the broken me, the unfixable me.

hi jared, i don't know what age you are? i think you need to speak to your doctor, there could be something physically amiss, you could have problems with vitamins, iron or something else. you keep asking your doctor on your own if you can or with someone and ask lots of questions.
