Thigh pain

Posted , 10 users are following.

I am 4 weeks post TRH and was doing really well but went to physio today and mentioned that my thigh was aching a bit and so she gave it a deep massage to get the blood flowing and now it is very painful .

I have dosed myself up with mess for the night and hope it eases off .

Have any other hippies had bad thigh pain ?

all advice welcome !!!!!!!!!!

Confession....... ive felt lazy as regards to physio the last week. Long story but basically the outpatients physio where i live knew nothing about me. My referrals had not been sent by the main hospital. ....so naughty me hasnt done anything but walk around the house one crutch..2 crutches when out. Im 3 weeks post op tomorrow. I crutched and stood alot last night wheni went out so stiff today. I went to do my exercises as i felt guilty and i flew through them... leg lifting...squats. .. i was amazed.

That's what I've found with previous replacements. The body heals itself and physio is only an added side bonus. But most of the healing is done naturally and we don't need physio as much as we've been told.

I agree. My consultant agrees. Especially for

the first few weeks. Hospital exercises only!

You are so right and I depended on it 100% prior to the op when so nervous...  Thanks Renee too for welcome back..I couldn't get in despite many attempts and would have given up had not Dot got involved.  I agree re one leg longer as supect that may be the case with me.. can't wait for 6 weeks ( 25days now and 10 more injections to my sore tummie) so i can get the bus as am very cut off and cannot walk to the village yet..

Well another bad night with my thigh throbbing all night . Not too bad in the day but when I relax in bed it seems to take hold .

Hope this is not going to go on because it is making me miserable and I was doing so well . Two steps forward and then one back !!!

hope no one else is suffering this ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️

    Good morning Jay,

Just checking in with you ... I hope last night was a bit better ...

Maybe I already asked, but have you seen this surgery on You Tube? A lot of cutting and severing of muscles and tendons are involved and I am teling you, for me, those leg raises are very challenging  to do and painful ...

If you also experience muscle cramps, try drinking tonic ... someone here on forum suggested it and it works for me ....

wishing you a good day, sweetheart

    big warm hug

Glad you had a good night's sleep. This is hard enough without spending the night awake and tired all day.

My thigh is a little sore too, mostly on resting, not so much walking. It's toward the top on the outside and throbs.

Naproxen and codeine at night sounds like it's in order.

The naproxen is for the inflammation in my thigh and the codeine to help me sleep lol

well it worked last night so another try tonight .
