Think I'm on the verge of beginning to flare, any advice?

Some symptoms have told me I think I might be going to flare. I don't want to have to have another flex sig, I do enemas every other night as my inflammation had gone down. Shall I go back to doing it every night and see how I get on?

This is my first flare since my diagnosis so I don't know what steps I should take.

...My choice and yours? I would want to do what's been working and change only as a "test"..and do you know what "maybe" the cause of the anticipated "flare"? diet or the alternating enema's, or??

I'm really not sure, I can't think of any changes I have made that would make me flare.

Everything seems to matter with some patients who suffer digestive issues..This is why  detail within one's diary can help.Does not need to be a sole "food" diary...should we get stressed out...explain it in your diary. You did state you were doing daily enema's and changed to one every other day. do you think this might have contributed to your "sense" of an oncoming flare?

Maybe, but I have been doing my enemas every other day for around a month and a half, wouldn't it already have made me flare if that was the cause? This is so difficult, I never realised it would be so hard to figure out why I might be flaring haha

    Hi Brooke

What symptoms are you having ? How long have u had ulcerative colitis or Crohn's or both?

It depends on how bad the flare is I have found since flaring the enemas didn't work for me but everyone is different with this disease so be positive if they are keeping the inflammation down then I would keep using them every day :-) x

I feel queasy a lot, mucous in my stools, gas, fatigue, some dizziness, but apparently the fatigue and dizziness is to do with the lack of nutrients I am getting. I have been diagnosed around 6 months.

      Hi Brooke

It's so hard having this condition the only advice I can say is don't leave it if it gets worse go to see your consultant but in the meantime rest when you can drink loads of water and don't not eat but if certain thing aggrevates you then avoid for now x

      Hope this helps x
