Do not worry. sure this has happened to us all at some stage. I double dosed on Venlafaxine a fe months ago .. I took 300mg instead of 150mg . It felt strange and uncomfortable but as this is a normal dose for some people I did not worry too much.

Again this is not medical advice as I am a patient as you are.may be a good idea to check with your prescriber.

I take 375mg of Venlafaxine each morning but taken double then you are likely to feel strange x

I don't think you can overdose on that amount , i suggest you ring NHS 111 as they would be able to advise you , i have on the odd occasion done 2 of Venlafaxine but have been reassured all would be okay . You could well be shaky because of your arguement with your son , then the shock that you may have taken 2 lots of Sertraline would add to your anxiety , try and breath gently , ring 111 for reassurance then rest quietly - please do not worry as that would only make your anxiety worst - easy for me to say i know x

Latiffa an overdose is when you take more then. 20 not 2 so just relax its not not an overdose.and you are fine because you are writing and asking what you can do plus help .if it was an overdose you will be sleeping not in front of your computer writing.take care .some ppl did advice you to call the NHS helpline you can do that , but for 2 tablets it's not worth it .

I would not worry. You need to take time to yourself to relax and do some deep breathing

i take sertraline myself Zoloft 25mg and it has helped me a lot but anxieties will be there the meds is just to help calm them down some its the coping skills we need to work on

Your still here, that's a good sign, I've taken 1000 mg of morphine before and just blacked out, came round still looking out the window standing up, surreal.

You are very lucky indeed to still be breathing gods air after taking that amount of morphine.  You were still standing up too , lol.  Wow.

I've done it a few times Angela , I was on 400 mg a day, 3600 gabapentin and 60 mg duloxatine plus sevredol ir , I've blacked out sitting in an old rowing boat in a boatyard, looking out the stable door off my caravan and sitting on the couch eating breakfast, it was like a half death wish, kinda suicide by accident on purpose . Due to elbow arthritis and ulner nerve pain. Going through some hell withdrawal symptons from the old favorite duloxatine now.

What is duloxatine?. I'm British and we use different terms for meds sometimes.

Hi I wouldn't worry I take 150mg of sertraline a day. In fact sertraline in higher doses up to 200mg a day I think is given for anxiety disorders so I doubt it was the medicine that has made you anxious as such. Like others say it is probably more likely to be the anxiety at the thought of having taken too much and the argument with your son. Hope you are feeling a little better now X

Hi relax taking an extra sertraline is not going to do you any harm at all.  They are not that strong.   x

Thanks I'm ok now, I don't know why after all this time I had such a freak out panic attack , I really don't think I took 2. Maybe I was worrying about taking 2 that brought on the panicky? ??

Hi it doesn't matter whether you took 2 or not - it is never going to harm you in any way shape or form.  They are only common ad's not very powerful sleeping pills you know.  If this is the focus of your anxiety foget it please.   Like has been said 20 would be an overdose and I doubt even that many would do you any permanent harm.  x

Thank you I understand what you mean, but I suffered so much for the first 4 weeks on sertraline with side effects that I became suicidal . I'm one of those people who are very sensitive to ad.

I really would like to get off them but I'm too scared.

Many people suffer side effects especially in the first few weeks but they usually settle down.  I am sertraline 150 mg a day and have awful dreams and a dry mouth,   but I consider that a fair enough trade off coz I am much better on them.   That's up to everyone to decide of course.  x

Yes of course I am also much better on the sertraline , and don't ever want to come off them. But so many people tell me I should try getting off them as it's not good in the long run? I have not researched this drug and long term effects as it will just cause me anxiety and maybe even a panick attack again. For now I'm sticking with it. I do wish there was another better way but I don't know any?

Thanks for your support hypercat xx

Hi ignore those people.  You need to stay on them until you have been feeling better for at least 6 months.  Then ok try and come off them with your doctors support and advice.   x

I think I agree with you, that's what I'm going to do, I've got enough to worry about
