Thinking of going back to 25mg instead of 50mg? Anyone doing ok on low dose?

Since a while, I kind of developped med inrolerance.

No med seems to suit me! None!

I feel totally drug on them even at therapeutic dose.

Been on a roller coaster ride with med changes since a year and a half !

At 4 weeks with zoloft, my symptoms seems to increases everyday.

Shaking, nervous , dizzy, stone, blurry vision, anxiety, headache... its almost getting worse instead of getting better.

I see my psychiatrist today.

Might go on lower dose to calm that down.

Anyone did ok on low dose ?

    Just saw my doctor.

She suggest going back to 25mg ....even if its not therapeutic.

She gets me soo fustrated because she tells me that Im almost not suppose to have side effects at 50.

It gets me kinda mad to see that doctors have no clue about what its like to go throught meds.

Omg lolita we must share the same brain, ha ha! I had a Dr appt earlier about the same thing. When I first started setraline July 27 I was put on 25mg. After 3 days had the nausea, no appetite kind of thing. Then second week went to 50. That is when the anxiety kicked in big time. So for two weeks on 50 I've had it. I saw a different dr who wants me to stay on it because of my anxiety. She asked me how I did on 25. I said good more tolerable. So she recommends I go back to 25. I played around a bit yesterday by taking a 25 yesterday. I woke this morning with a huge hangover like headache. I don't know if it could be because I lowered the dosage. Today I did 50 and got the anxiety. So that's it, no more 50. To think the other doctor wanted to increase to 75 or 100. I'm real sensitive to meds I guess you are too?

      That is really funny!

But you know what ? I know that Im a slow metaboliser and getting 40 years old, I think my hormones are also playing tricks on me.

Ive been looking around the internet and there is other person who just dont fit the normal range dosages.

I was put directly from prozac to zoloft 25mg. So first week was okay with maybe the side effects of starting and stopping the other. But since 50, Im just like you!

My psychiatrist really frustrated me today. Its like, if you dont fit in the range then its not normal! She is just focus on me getting back to work. But I told her I just want to feel better before that. To her, its like my fault if I dont agree with meds ! But anyways!!

I also decreased my dose today and have a bit of a headache. Might be quite normal since our brain has to adapt again! Hope we dont get too much symptoms.

Lets keep in touch with that!!

My doctor after a few weeks thought he would suggest to up dose but I refused mainly because I couldn’t cope with the increase starting was bad enough and I was finally feeling semi normal .A few people I know are on 50 or more and laugh at me saying it wouldn’t do much but I know my body!

      Good luck

It’s still there especially as I’m constantly going to specialist appointments for check ups which is alway a reminder of my health issues but not so bad as they might be without meds

Forgot to ask you how long have you been taking it and why do you feel tired? Maybe taking the sertraline at night be better?

How are you doing so far on the 25mg? I'm still having headaches. It may because I also take hormone replacement. I changed from morning to night not sure if that is why. How is your sleep? I'm getting a bit better. I still take my sertraline in the morning. I haven't had to take klonopin since Sunday.

      Hey my sertraline friend!

Its funny cause I thought you were a guy until you mentionned hormones replacement! Lol

I dont take hormones but sometimes feel like Im near premenopause...40 yrs old!

I take my meds since monday around 4 pm. No problem with sleep but I take around 0.25mg of clonazepam at night.

Still have my headaches always starting in the afternoon until night. Its probably due to some withdrawal of the 50mg to 25mg. But I was less shaking and nervous today. Still feel tired and bit anxious but I will have to settle at that dose and see.

Im glad to hear your sleep is better.

Headaches sucks but I try not to take too much medecine for that.

How is your anxiety? Do you have headaches all day?

Actually I ended sertraline yesterday. I could not stand the side effects. I gave it a week on 25 and the increased anxiety, no appetite has never gone away. I saw a new doctor this week and she said this is a medicine that causes anxiety and she doesn't recommend it. She offered me lexapro but I told her I want to wait. I've had two good nights sleeping without pills and I feel like I can beat this. I need to get myself a job. I wish you lots of luck and hope this medicine works for you. Make sure you try to exercise and maybe check to see if it could be hormonal being in hormones not all that bad.

I totally understand you giving up!

Hope you dont have too much withdrawal symptoms from stopping it?

My doctor and some studies report that lexapro and sertraline are suppose to be the meds that respond best for anxiety!??? But everyone is different and does not necessarly have the resukts they want.

Hope you do great and wish you luck!
