It sounds very much like the drug doesn't agree with you, go back to the doctor, you can't carry on with those symptoms. Good luck.

    Hi Kelli50,

I agree with RObert, in that this Sertraline may not be the best for you. And get in with your doctor to report your symptoms and ask to try a different med.

In the meantime, it would be wise to not stop taking Sertraline altogether suddenly, because that can be dangerous for you.

    Take care,

50mg will not kill depression   100mg may. 25mg is nothing  it just to start you , its up you need to go not down. i have waited 12 weeks for a med to work before all the time sick has a dog, if you dont stick the trail out you will never no, 6 weeks you  are   still full of side effects they will pass

Do u really think it takes that long? I'm 5weeks and still got anxiety issues and daily panic. Helped a bit.

No anti-depressant will "kill" depression,it's a medication to help with the symptoms while you get your life back on track through will power & determination. The medication is basically a crutch.

Ask your doc to straight taper you to another SSRI MED  that mabye wont have the side effects

    Hi Kelli,

i started on the same dose as you..

But had so many side effects. .. And more prolonged anxiety., plus most awful nightmares.. I decided. Since I could not get an appointment with the GP

to discuss the problem .. For 3 weeks..

I have weaned myself of it.. Going down to 25 mg . For a week.. And halving that again for a few days.. I am no longer taking Setraline ..

I do however take diazepam .. Which I find keeps my anxiety levels .. Much better..

get you're GP advice.. If poss.. I only did this because I didn't want to continue.,

with the problems I was experiencing..any longer.. As I am a carer for my husband.. And have to be able to cope.. Without fuzzy head..

    Good luck to you.. wink

Hello, I am on week 5 on sertraline and started to shake when I use a knife and fork.  I have hunched shoulders a lot of the time too.  I try to relax them when I notice it.  I also have tension on my top lip and when I notice that I relax my lip.  The shaking is a new side effect this week on week 5.  The shoulder haunch has been for most of the time since starting the drug.  I am sticking with it.  My side effects dont sound as bad as yours and I hope that you manage to sort this out one way or another.  Hope this info helps.  All the best.
