Every 4-6 weeks i get red spots between my inner and outer labia - same area, on both sides. Went to a vulva dermatologist and she diagnosed me with Chronic Vulvovaginal Candidiasis and sure enough the swab positive for candida. Have been on treatment for 4 weeks which was going all well till today - i have irritation and red spots again. No pain, had tingling yesterday.IGG blood negative at 7 months but always positive for IGM. This has to be herpes correct?! im struggling to live a normal life. My current partner still has not been infected and we have been having sex for 10 months. My exposure was 11 months ago. HELP! docs wont swab me because it doesnt look like a classic outbreak!! please note that the red spot and rash are a lot more red than what that picture shows!!!image

iGM means recent infection. iGG takes months or even a year plus to show positive

my doctor told me IGG will show positive if you have ever gotten a chicken pox vaccine, or ever had the pox virus

    Hi,

I'm assuming the IgG/IgM antibody test is for Herpes, A postive IgM might mean a recurrent outbreak, BUT it is really not done anymore, we only do IgG, the reason for this is because IgM can lead to ambiguous results, meaning it is not type-specific so this is misleading.

Looking at the picture, these are not typical herpes lesions, I wouldn't swab as well, not because it is or its not, it's because herpes culture is extremely tricky, and you need a large active ulcer to increase the chances of a successful culture.

what if Igg comes back postive for 1&2

but igm comes back negative, and your swabbed area was also negative. what does that usually mean?
