This headache just won't go away (Amitriptyline)

Hi, Ive had a headache for the last 6 months every single day, Ive had a brain mri which they've ruled out a brain tumour, anyway the Doctors have started me on Amitrptyline every night 10mg, does anyone know when it will start working? Please help?

    10mg is a small dose and you might like I have build up to 150mg a day but I still get bad headaches so saw a private consultant and there are a few options for the headaches I have as they have to replace a chemical in the brain and most have a success rate of 60% but taking paracetamol too much can also cause headaches, I am in my eight year of headaches but see a light after the consultant opinion. I will be looking to ween myself off these to start another option (all under my gp)

    the specialist advised me to take Soluble aspirin at the start of a headache 90mg and that does help 

    these are very cheap and just as good as an anadin etc

      Hey, yep I think they working but i thnk the dose needs to go up as its turned my headaches from a 8/10 to 4/10, and when do you take the aspirin, i have a headache everyday as soon as i wake up

    I too have had headaches since last Sept I started amitrptylime 10mg in Jan after having mri and ct scan.

    I still have the headaches but not so severe. Feel as though it's in the background. Walking and being outdoors helps. I believe the drug only keeps the problem at bay and not cures the problem.
