This is my third report for taking gabapentin 300mg for spinal stenosis. As reported, i increased my dose to 5 tablets 3 times a day - still no side effects or relief from pain down both my legs that can only be described as permanent cramp in my thighs and calfs.
In desperation i increased my dose further, but not for long as it left me slightly off my head and finger joints that seemed to lock up, i went straight back to 5 tablets 3 times a day.
I am now waiting to hear from my consultant for injections or an operation, is there anybody out there with similar experiences.
:headhurts:

I'm on 300mg for the first week and 2x300mg for second week, then 3 a day.
I am taking them for neurophathic pain due to Arnold Chiari malformation(hind brain hernia)
Waiting to go back to the Docs as if I feel like this now I dread to think what I would be like when I raise the dose!!!!!!

Thanks for reply and comments
Sorry to hear about your side effects.
You don't say if your pain has lessened,i hope it has.
My consultant told me to keep increasing my dosage to a level
i could tolerate,as long as it was controlling the pain.
I am now on 7x300mg tabs 3times a day(2100mg),side effects have
eased and pain is staying at the same level.
Hope you have the same results ,good luck.

and although its controled my pain' i'v decided to reduce my dosage
back down to 2 tablets 3 times a day as the side effects of ballooning weight and constant sleepiness were getting too much.
I'm now down to 2 tablets 3 times a day, the pain's increasd again
but i'm going to see how much i can stand.
Hope you are having somegood results Alison.
