    Hi Mary!

Yes, I also had tingling and numbness in my hand and woukd lose all control over my entire arm when I aggravated my shoulder.

My doctor said that was pretty normal.

I never had the stiff neck but my doctor asked about it and checked me for it.

I am one week today into recovery and physical therapy for MUA (Manipulation Under Anesthesia) and an Arthroscopy procedure.

All is going well. Therapy has been painful but very positive. I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

It will still be awhile and a lifetime of ensuring I keep my shoulder moving to make sure it does not return or spread to my other shoulder.

Good luck on your appointment ... I hope all turns out well.

Hello Mary, I had 2 frozen shoulders one on my left sholuder 4 years ago and the second one on my right 1 and a half years ago and it's exactly that pain that I immediately recognise.

I learned that not stressing the shoulder in any way during the first period (when it really hurts! the first 4 to 6 months ) but using it mildly all the time (sweeping, cleaning table tops, soft turning movements that never try to force the pain level) I carried heavy buckets, moved furniture but always stopping softly and carefully to keep the shoulder active but not stressed  than later on more rigorous movements in the second period (when it freezes) and very rigorous movement in the 3rd period when it's defrosting works best. Good luck it;s a really awfull thing that sadly doesnt seem to have a fast cure yet!

Hi Mary, I experience pain down my arm - seems to have changed as the disease hangs around. I've recently posted the Niels Asher technique freed my movement considerably. I still have loads of pain, but can dress again after only a few appointments. I don't know where you are, but I believe this therapy is UK based - not many practioners, but the one I found here in the states was very helpful to give me range of motion back.
