This might make you smile

Had my first solo trip to the supermarket. I'm still partial weightbearing so put crutches in the trolley and scoot round the store. No problems there but coming out of the store the pavement (sidewalk) was sloping and I had to use one crutch to stop the trolley falling off the kerb. Arriving at the car I only had one crutch! I scatched my head - what had I done with it! Retraced my steps and someone had parked a bike near the exit and my crutch had caught on it and was dangling. I was quite relieved as I was begiining to wonder about my sanity.

That's funny!  I guess cause I can relate to the scooter in the store thing with my crutches propped in the basket.  I had difficulty trying not to hit someone or something with the ends of the sticks.

Looking back at that now makes me smilesmile

😂 Keeping a sense of humour is essential for a faster recovery!! Well done finding your crutch! I'm currently using one crutch most of the time and two in busy areas. I get raised eyebrows as one crutch is beautifully decorated with Star Wars stickers courtesy of my 4 year old bored grandson at a wedding last weekend! The other crutch was in my hotel room so remains unendorned!

One of mine has gold paint on it from when I was spray painting props for my wife's ballet show. Hopefully the hospital won't mind when I take it back. Or should I spray the whole crutch gold?biggrin

Mike I admit I not only smiled but yes I kinda chuckled a litte. I thank you for that darlin'...laughter releases mother nature's feel good endorphins in our brains & I needed that on this rainy day in sweet home Alabama USA :-)

Nothing like a running an obstacle course, right?

When I was using a cane, I "lost" it at a store one day, I thought.  I was just about at the end of using it, so I chalked it up to "Oh well it was free ..."  but I still had niggling thoughts "Where the heck did I put it?"

Found it outside my kitchen door hanging on the railing....right where I had put it on coming home from the grocery!

I'm sorry but that made me laugh! I know it's not funny really but I'm trying to make light of all this since I'm probably heading for surgery in November!! I need both done unfortunately. But the dr said sometimes some people don't need the other after the first one!! So I'm hoping and praying that'll be me!!

Still well and keep healing!! And give updates on how you're doing!!!😄

If there is one thing I have learnt about hospitals and medical stuff it's that you need a sense of humour! When things go wrong it is always better to laugh than to cry though not always possible.

You're right! So as unhooked around in the yard with a broom handle, I actually laughed at myself!! Lol I'm learning to laugh more finally!! Thank you for keeping it positive. As I get older, I realize how short life is and I've been working on leaving my regrets behind too the best I can!! So I'm going to do the opposites as best I can!! Staying Positive not depressed and sad!!! 😄
