Thorasic outlet syndrome rib removed - weight lifting

Posted , 1 user is following.

Hi All,

I was diagnosed with TOS after having a blood clot in my right subclavian vein. The doctor suggested that this was an effort induced thrombosis as I played baseball for 20+ years. I had the rib removed on the right side but did not touch the left side. This was 11 years ago. I am currently planning on getting back into weight lifting and I was wondering if I should be concerned about/place any restrictions on the type of lifting I do because of my condition (I know to avoid overhead lifts). My major concern is not about the right side, because the rib does not exist, but rather the left side. I should mention that I am right hand dominate.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
