    hi

I had my op on 25th July and to be honest it did feel as if one leg was longer . I was advised this is a common experience . my feeling of this did go away after a few weeks but it does need you to do your exercises and walking to get used to it . my leg did feel as if it wanted to fall out if i didn't keep control but this went away . we are all different and it does depend too on how fit you were before hand as to how strong the.muscles will be after . I used my crutches to come out of hospital then discarded them for walking stick but as I said we are all different. There will be a wide range of experiences but nothing you have said to me is cause for alarm but if worried contact the surgical team.

well at least if anything does happen you'll have an idea way before I'd imagine. but tbh I'm sure you're doing so well cos you were fit before. from what I've read on here before it's a common thread for those that are pre OP.

anyway dont knock it and just enjoy your recovery lol

hi. I'm almost 14 weeks post OP and I too felt unequal . from what I've read it often resolves itself but mention it at your post OP appt. as for your leg looking like its moved to the side if could be that the position it was in pre OP was the wrong one. if there was a problem with it being in the wrong position now I'd have thought it would hurt ? but make a list of questions to ask abt when you go fof your post OP appt.

    best wishes in your recovery

Hi, I had a TLHR in Dec 2017. my leg was lengthened. i gained about 2cm on that side, so its possible it is longer. all my muscles took a while to adjust and it took me a while to stand straight. it took my brain at least 3 or 4 months to get used to the feeling and stop telling me that the operated leg was too long. but if you are worried i would contact the surgeon.

    I'd echo whats been said.

I had my operation last MONDAY and the BMI Surgeon in GLASGOW said their could be a slight difference or that at least I'd feel it that way for a while.

if you think theres movement, speak with the surgeon regarding a follow up scan

    hi,

it's very early days yet. Wait until you go for 6 week checkup and mention your concerns to your Consultant. Good luck with your recovery.
