THR after a fracture?

Posted , 6 users are following.

Hello out there. Has anyone among you had a badly fractured hip that after nearly a year hasn't healed, so a THR is the only solution? I am being told how big and potentially dangerous and operation this is, and how I will not be able to move about the way people usually do who have a THR because of arthritis. I would love some advice or shared experience. Thanks

      Hi Ruth

Just wondered, was your hip badly arthritic or did you fracture your hip which as Esther says is entirely different? My sister broke/fractured her hip but her operation was very successful. In some cases it may also not be a case of never looking back, no operation as I have found out, even for someone who was fit and well before the operation, is ever 100% successful.
