They probably aren't there...but they might feel like they're there. You don't need a shrink. The pinworm problem can manifest itself in serious ways that affect our emotional/mental psyche. Like my family Dr put it: if you are already under a large amount of stress, then the pinworm situation can feel much worse. In fact I was also wondering if they were in my ears. My ears are itchy (inside) and sometimes ache...as does my TM joint. She thoroughtly checked my ears (spent a long time checking both, even though only the left one bothers me). No pinworms in my ears; however, she did say that it was probably my TMjoint "acting up" (clenching my teeth a little more than normal) due to stress, thereby causing the symptoms I have in my ears. If they were in your eyes, the Dr would be able to see them, no problem. That being said, I do believe this pinworm infestation can cause severe stress; perhaps clinical depression. I am starting on my second "round" of Combantrin. This time, my family has agreed to take it also (it's really expensive. I wonder if the Drs have samples...), so I hope it will work. I am cleaning my tub everyday and alternating shower curtains. I change my bedding every evening. I shower everynight and in the morning, I "spongebath" from the waist down. I also change my clothes (all of them) in the morning. I try not to shake the sheets, etc too much so they don't become air born. I'm also now washing my toilet everyday (and around it) and cleaning the toilet seat after each use (just wipe down the seat with rubbing alcohol). If you can't keep on top of the cleaning for whatever reason...a good spray of Lysol on your bed and any areas that may have eggs will deal with the problem. I'm determined to get rid of these stubborn things. THEY WILL NOT RULE MY LIFE...FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!! Definitely determined. My family thinks I'm crazy but have finally agreed to take the Combantrin to "humor" me. I've offered to give them visuals; but they can't be bothered. Anyway, I'll keep you posted, please keep us posted. Please do not worry about them being elsewhere as they will make there way to your intestine where they are happy; where they are supposed to be...till you eradicate them. If they are elsewhere in your body, they won't be for long. If you've seen an actual worm in your eye, please check with an opthalmologist or optometrist. They can dilate the pupil and see everything in your eye. It could be that you have another type of worm; one that gravitates to the eye. If it is in your eyes, the Dr will definitely see them as they are not that hard to see. Good luck, my friend. Take care.

    Deepest sympathies Takia,

Ask your doctor about delusional parasitosis, can be treated very easilly as long as you are prepared to eliminate all possibilities, see my post called Bizzarre but true for my story similar to yours
