three back surgeries in one . . .

I am having a microdisectomy L4, nerve decompression L3 and a fusion L4-5 on May 11.  Can anyone provide some details into recovery for these procedures????

    wow !!! The surgeons really trying to help you, i would imagine that all this work is being done so as to avoid further operations , as for recovery time , well we are all different so its hard to put a time scale on it , however they will want you up out of bed proberly within 24 to 48 hrs if all went well, as to normal life style things should improve after surgery , but dont rush it , take your time , little steps at a time , the surgeon will give you a time scale if you ask, but will proberly say 6 to 8 weeks fo r some people longer for others you will know, surgery is usually followed up with physio treatment to help you on the way , i would just ask the surgeon he knows and expected period and how much damage is in the area, but dont expect to walk on water straight away , the human body needs time to heal.
