hi lovely sertraline is known to have a late withdrawal process, so for example withdrawals could hit immediately or months down the line everyone is different, you have a 3 week window to reinstate the dose back up to 200mg so you can taper slowly to prevent withdrawals. i recently tapered down 200-150mg 3 days ago and im suffering heightened anxiety already and sweating, low mood and agitation etc, they recomend a 5-10% decrease every 2-4 weeks to prevent any drastic withdrawals, not everyone experiences withdrawal symptoms either. hope you feel better soon xx

i came off sertraline after two years. for most people it is vitally important to taper off slowly..really slowly i took months. i used a sharp knife to cut my pills and asked the doc for the 25mg pills. i still took at least 3 weeks between each taper. for a week after tapering down i would feel really cloudy and off, not pleasant. there are many posts on this site about sertraline withdrawal symptoms and how to best taper off.

A chemist can give you a weeks medication without a prescription in emergency situations

Once again i would highly recommend tapering off slowly, but i accept that everyone is different! Good luck.

Thanks lorna It wasnt my intention to stop taking the sertraline at all just wasnt bothered going to my GP. Silly me!! I'm getting my prescription tomorrow so will ask doc about reducing from 200mg safely because it's a horrible feeling especially carrying my 9 month old when I get really dizzy spells down stairs ect..
