THREE weeks on prozac

Posted , 5 users are following.

I have been on every medication under the moon and tons of combos. Just started with a new dr that took me off everything and put me on prozac. The reason was I was on prozac for 9 years with no breakthrough depressions many years ago. It pooped out at the time but I have never been able to say well for long periods since then. I have been on the meds for three weeks super slow. 5 mg for a week, 10 for 5 days , 15 for 5 days and now 20 for last 4 days. I feel terrible, tired, anxious, depressed. Why does it get worse before it gets better. I feel so scared and hopeless. Any advice, suggestions or encouragement would be great. ThanksĀ

Hi carli , I'm just agreeing with everything Dawn said , its awful at the start and seems forever ,and to have the very thing we went for to the doctor to be given meds that actually make us feel worse is terrible and we honestly don't know what to do !!, But its the only way through , and we do come out into the sunshine again !! Keep going hun xxxxx

      Pam,

Thank you, I am looking forward to the sunshine, it's been a long time and I am naturally a sunny person so this depression has really been the worst for me. I feel like it's robbed me of my very essence. Although it feels like it will never end I am going to push forward each day. Thanks for your support! Big hugs

Darling you WILL get there!! Just feeling able to be and do normal is wonderful!! I know how very hard it is at the moment , but you will turn that corner , just take each day at a time , go and have your shower , it will make yiu feel a bit better, then if able to go for a little walk , were all here and understand , love and hugs xxxxx
