Throat closes during exercise - anxiety?

Hi,

Whenever I try to exercise and breathe through my mouth, the air gets stuck in my throat. It's like my throat tightens or closes when trying to get a deep breath in during exercise. It makes exercise not fun at all, and kind of scary. Afterwards, I get some chest tightness and lasting shortness of breath for hours. I tried an asthma inhaler, but it doesn't help much. My oxygen saturation is 97-98% when exercising, and after. It just feels awful, like I'm choking, with chest tightness. Anyone else get this as part of breathing symptoms of anxiety?

Sounds like EIB. Do you have asthma or any kind of allergies?

Thanks for the response Aurora. I used to have mild asthma and mild allergies as a child. The inhalers don't really make much difference for me though when I use them right now after exercise. And sometimes I'm short of breath all day! Not just with exercise. It is beyond frustrating.
