Throat has been red and bumpy for months. Thoughts?

My throat, which is slightly sore, but not terrible, has been red and bumpy (as seen in the picture) for a couple months. I was wondering if this is should be taken more seriously.

Thank-you

No idea! I’ve had swellings for 3 nearly 4 weeks. Feel like something stuck in throat when I swallow my spit, No pain, other than it felt raw all the way down to bottom of my chest,  until Sunday when I developed a cough and now soreness in my glands under neck and tongues sore as if blistered! I’ve noticed the redness from the bulge on the left in pic is now down side of tongue on that side and feels sore to touch! Doc ain’t got a clue what it is. He’s swabbed it and awaiting results to see if infection, already had a course of antibiotics but they did nothing, so im thinking it’ll say no infection!

i had vaginal surgery in November and had two bad infections down there , so had three really strong antibiotics. I’d finished the last course the week before this flared up! No idea if related, but I’m pancijng it’s something sinister. More worried as doctor looked worried, I asked should I be worried, could it be a thing sinister, cos he looked worried and he said no, he was more annoyed that he didn’t know what it was!

Said it could be acid reflux and I could had silent reflux and not know I’ve got it, fungal infection or virus, other than that he didn’t have a clue, but if the swab test showed no infection he would have a look down my throat with mirror and light. No idea whether he is right to be nothing sinister or if he was just trying to not worry me too much! Who knows!  It if he doesn’t know what it is I aren’t overly reassured that it can’t be cancer
