i also suffer from allergies and i am on lexapro and Vyvanse. i found out today after taking Benadryl that i have a paradoxical reaction to Benedryl which included psychomotor hyperactivity. it feels like a panic attack. your leg starts bouncing up and down a mile a minute, chest tightens up, hot and cold sweats, mind racing, body aching. i was miserable. so be careful if you use benadryl with anti- depressants

yes, this usually accompanies my anxiety as well. It feels like a bubble or something like mucus waded in the back of your throat making your anxiety worse. constantly worrying if your airway is going to close?

i had that in my 30s. they took out my tonsils and adnoids, but it doesnt do anything for anxiety. i know the feeling all too well though, i panic when ever i feel something in the back of my throat, i cant help but think my airway is going to close up and i am going to sufficate. Im on meds that work pretty good at controling the anxiety. That is until recently with this Corona virus thing. i think its boosted all our anxiety especially those who are prone to anxiety attacks. in my case allergies to pollen and mold cause my sinuses to get infected and mucus drips down the back of my throat which triggers the anxiety.

when i see anything having to do with corona, or when i talk about it, i get anxious. just the way we anxiety sufferers are wired i guess. i get shaky and a slight burning sensation inside. i think we are just super sensitive to situations we cant control, and the fear of being sick and dying. i know i dont want to die. i have had to xanex more times in the last two weeks, because of the virus scare, than i have ever taken. my gp told me to take them and if i ran out, he would get me more. but this pandemic has me on edge as it does a lot of you. we anxiety sufferers are not weird, we are special and super sensitive to change, and hysteria which might cause us harm. thats just who we are, and that makes us different.

i am sorry you are hurting right now. anxiety must be at its peak with all that is going on with the virus. do you suffer from seasonal allergies or have sinus problems? the reason is ask this is because it could be the reason for the flem/mucus feeling in your throat. anytime i have food or flem in my throat at an exact spot next to my air way i panic. i get irritable, i heat up, i cough to try and get the obstruction up. my stomach churns and feel achy up both my arms, my heart starts to race. its a terrible feeling. to stop this, first I realize i am not going to die, then i drink lots of water and sit down and try to relax and put my thoughts on something else. water washes the flem away and cools the sensitive spot in my throat. i can get this feeling usually right before it rains, making me think it sinus related. it also could be caused by acid reflux from your stomach or gas, like you get a burp stuck. i have had it both ways, they feel the same way on the throat although the acid reflux leaves a burning feeling in your throat. sometimes antacid works, sometime it doesnt. main thing is to remain in control. try not to panic, you are not going to die. try to relax and put your mind elsewhere. this is easier said than done, i realize this, but you have to try. try to remember the words to your favorite song. take a hot shower, but relax. if the problem persists, talk to your GP and maybe he can get to the bottom of whats going on. i hope this helps.
