Throat problems ... HELP

Please help!!!! It started following a cold .... throat started hurting, then to swallow that eased but then a feeling of being strangled appeared. It now feels like that sometimes others like I have pglem stuck at the back of my throat. Ears feel blocked and occsssionaly my jaw aches. I suffer from anxiety and am worried it’s throat cancer. Have been to doctors who tell me there is no lumps or signs of this but have referred me to an ENT anyway although taking ages for my referral

 So so worried. Any one had this before?

    Anxiety is the worst thing here. Try not to worry and have faith in your Doctors. If after they examined you they suspected anything I honestly believe you would have been sent to a specialist at the hospital within 2 weeks.

    I have the same thing! I am always pulling my shirt away from my neck! Lots of phlegm in my throat! Went to 2 ENTs they did I think it’s an endoscope! They put a camera up your nose to look into your throat! They told me they see nothing and I have gerd! I take Prilosec and find no relief! I am thinking of getting an endoscopy to go in my mouth to look at my esophagus and stomach!! I think the doctors are wrong, but what do I know!! I know what you mean to get into a specialist is ridiculous! It’s like they don’t care if you are suffering! I know it’s hard not to but worrying seems to make things worst!! Hope you get in soon to ease your mind!! Good Luck!!

    Try not to worry too much , this acid relux takes on many forms. 2 years ago about this time of year I had

    a sore throat lasted 4 months, I nearly went in sane with worry, my GP kept telling me it was viral, in the end i was

    sent for a thing called a panendoscopy which was a rigid bar put down the back of my throat (full anesthetic) nothing bad found, I was discharged from hospital on xmas eve, my throat was in agony for days, no xmas dinner for me that year, then in about Feb it started to clear up, Im convinced it was reflux as I've had so many other horrible symptoms ever since, at moment suffering from horrendous pain between my shoulder blades, wish to God somebody could find a cure for this awful affliction. I got the pain up into my jaws and ears when my throat was sore and yes that awful feeling like someone is trying to strangle you, are you on any ppi?

    Hi James,

    I had some similar issues and seeing a ENT is a good idea. That's what I did. He used a scope like apparatus and went in through my nose to my throat to look for abnormalities. He also had me tested for about 80 different allergies which was painful but worth it. Everything looked normal and no allergies but the problem persisted. My journey ended up with my problem being what I thought was phlegm was acid reflux. But start with your ENT. God bless
