Throat Tightness and burping a lot.

Hi there 

For the last 5 weeks I've been suffering with tightness in my throat and burping quite frequently. The tightness starts the moment i get up to when i go to sleep and doest seem to go away unless i'm eating food. The burping is much the same lasting all day, but a lot of the time lately I've been consciously burping in an attempt to relax my throat, but still do a lot of uncontrolled burping as well, food doesn't tend to play much of a roll, though liquid does, even just water. Ive been to the doc several times, Started me on anti acids for two weeks, but had no effect on my symptoms. 

Any advice is welcome please. cheers

    Im currently going through the same symptoms except im experience burning in my sternum and throat area going for a endoscopy in a few hours today already had a barium swallow jave you had anything yet?

      I recently had a ultrasound as my doctor suspected my gallbladder as the root cause, turns out thats was not the case, i guess i should be relieved, but the problem persists. My GP has basically told me thats about all he can do for now. Im thinking of also going for a endoscopy also how did your go?
