Thrombocytopenia, Neutropenia and left shifted myeloid

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone might have the same issues as me and may have had a possible diagnosis.

I have persistent thromboctopenia and neutropenia. I had a bone marrow biopsy taken in 2014 and was diagnosed with predominant left shifted myeloid and megakaryoctic series. I am again being referred back to bone marrow specialist due to ongoing symptoms such as bleeding gums, night sweats, blurred vision, mouth ulcers, extreme fatigue.

Basically I want to know if anyone suffers with the same blood conditions/bone marrow issues and if they have been given any type of diagnosis?

Thank you

Hi. I was diagnosed 7 years ago with Autoimmune Neutropenia, but I 've had low neutrophil and WBC counts since before the diagnosis. I've repeated my biopsy last year and fortunately no serious bone marrow problem was found. Just that I have anti neutrophils antibodies that 'destroy' my neutrophils.

Hi There! Just wanted to ask how you were doing - I'm sorry I didn't see this when you first posted... when you said:

"in 2014 and was diagnosed with predominant left shifted myeloid and megakaryoctic series" that was actually not a diagnosis, just a specification of your symptoms. LIke if you say "I have a runny nose and sneezing" that's not a diagnosis" smile a diagnosis would be "you have a cold" or "you have allergies."

A likely diagnosis would be something like myelodysplasic syndrome (MDS) or some sort of myeloproliferative disorder (MPN), and both of these cover a whole family of subtypes, some mild and others very serious. At any rate, I hope you were followed closely, and what you report about bleeding, fatigue, sweats does suggest a progressing disease. There are certainly treatments for MDS and MPNs, and your medical team should absolutely be working to give you an (actual) diagnosis so that you can be given some options on how to proceed!

    best wishes to you.
