Thrombosed external hemorrhoid following LIS

Hello. I'm new to this group. I had a Lateral Internal Spincterotomy 3 days ago, after suffering with a large atypical fissure for about 18 months. (My doctor tried a Dermal Flap repair 6 months ago but that failed, after trying all the typical medications.)

I've followed all the post-op directions but am in much more pain than I expected and have now developed a thrombosed external hemorrhoid. Has anyone else had this complication and if so what did you do to help ease the pain and aid the healing? How long did it take to resolve? Looking for light at the end of the tunnel. Many thanks.
