Thrush won’t go away

hello, I've had a very stressful few month , i was getting weird white discharge and sex with my partner was painful. so i handed some swabs into the doctors and they comfirmed it was thrush. they gave me a pessary. A few weeks went by the discharge didnt stop. i went out and bought the canesten pill myself. still didnt make a difference ; my mam resasured me that maybe the discharge is normal so i got on with everyday life. however sex with my partner was still painful. so i went back to the doctors for a triple swab examination. she said my cervix was healthy and no STDs detected, just the thrush, i was given another pessary which didnt work. so ive been perscribed 2 weeks of fluconazole , my last tablet is tonight but i see no difference, what do i do? i drink plenty of water, i dont bath in anything other than water .

have they done a culture to see what type of candida is growing? some strands can be hard to combat.

i dont have any experience with herpes. but i've had some insane issues with candida. i think you would see open sores with herpes though
