Thyroid & Neck Lymph Node FNA Biopsies - Anyone have either??

Hello, I have 2 nodules on my thyroid and a 2.7cm neck lymph node. I am trying to schedule the biopsies inquiring at two local hospitals. My question is this:

-One hospital - no restrictions on eating/drinking--local anesthesia --in and out...just have someone pick me up.

-The other hospital - I will be under sedation (colonoscopy-like sedation), underwent questionnaire, no eating 8 hours before, no drinking 2 hours before, will take 90 minutes and recover, 2 hours recovery, have someone pick me up.

I haven't decided which to go with. Why the big disparity? On one hand I don't want to have anesthesia if I really don't have to, on the other I don't want to suffer too much.

Has anyone had Thyroid and or neck lymph node FNA biopsies? And if so what was it like? Thank you!

It depends on you, but you may have to try the other hospital. The risk is greater, but the result is more accurate.
