TIA Mini Strokes....

I believe I've been having TIA strokes for a number of years. Perhaps for the last 5 years or so. I end up with the back part of the right side of my tongue have pins and needles and my speech becomes slurred. I also get a numbness in my face. Currently one side of my body feels heavier than the other side (for several years now). Even though I pass all of the motion tests and pass the MRI, Ultra sound, and the neck scan I still know something is not right. I even feel like only one side of my throat is doing all the work when I swallow.... What should I do next for testing or help? Could this just be a nerve issue? These events last about 20 minutes and I could have several a day, or a couple times a month over the course of years now. Sorry this is so long.

Hi george.Has your doctor mentioned migraines as a possibility? I'm on meds for life now.I had a stroke last year I'm 45 and I suffered from loads of headaches leading up to that and my heart was fluttering now and then.It was painful when that happened so I was hooked up to a heart monitor for 5 days in hospital and had to take it home and keep it on.I had an mri scan in hospital and it had showed I'd had slight irregularities in my brain meaning I'd been having TIAs and not knowing it.I also suffered from vertigo and was constantly dizzy. Was horrible. But before my MRI I had doctors come round and a neurologist mentioned it might be migraines.I found that puzzling as I know what that's like and it's now affected my memory a lot of the time. But if you passed the MRI I was wondering could it be migraines? The neurologist said TIA and migraines are very similar.Numbness and slurred speech. Are you any further on with whats been happening to you?Hope you're doing ok.Elaine.

Thank you for your reply, interesting I also have some pretty bad vertigo. As a home improvement worker I will no longer go on roofs or even ladders for fear of falling. I'm very sensitive to being in a house with uneven floors.

Hi George. Your story is very concerning. I hope you have had CTS and a neurosurgeon to view the scans. Are you on meds to prevent clots? I had 2 TIAS and finally a more serious stroke.
I've had migraines since I was a small child. There are a lot of different types of migraines. I have been receiving Botox shots. I'm almost 60 years old. Since the shots, it has been the first time the migraines have been prevented.
I've said prayers for you. For healing and good doctors.
Please keep us updated.
Lorraine~

Since I have high Lipo-protein a, Lp(a) I have been on baby aspirin for many years. My family history is riddled with strokes and heart attacks at young ages so I'm always on look out for troubles. These symptoms concern me but my tests keep coming back ok.... but I I know something is off, I'm just unsure of the reason.
