Tight chest 24/7

Hello,

I am really worried about new symptom I've been experiencing for around 2 months.

It is a funny Tickly tightness in my chest with deep breaths, it's really starting to wind me up.

I have been worried about my breathing since the start of the year

In the last four months I've had spirometry, ECG and two blood tests and everything is normal. I have also had some Wheezing this year and the odd shortness of breath but doctors are saying that's asthma and nothing else. When I ask the doctor about my chest feelings he never answers the questions and just chucks mental health leaflets at Ms.. Feeling misunderstood.

Please let me know of anyone has similar symptoms and if I should be worring.

Other notes my breathing is clear always, peak flow is on average 700.

Thankyou

Asthma, or a rib injury.. If your Doctor is not helping you should change Doctors. But if the shortness of breath is Asthma then that means your other symptoms could be too. Or a rib injury I remember when I had one it would hurt to take deep breaths. Hope you get better👍

To help determine if your shortness of breath is anxiety related, go to YouTube and search for 10 minute breathing meditation. There are several to choose from. It teaches you the proper breathing method when you have  anxiety. Or listen to a meditation for anxiety. Your breathing should relax and it should ease up any shortness of breath.    I do these a couple times a day and feel totally relaxed afterwards. Hope you feel better

Just so you know, shortness of breath and chest tightness is a very common symptom that goes along with anxiety. I have had that on and off for many years and so I have millions of other people.

I've had this constantly for around two months. Doc says anxiety. The tightness is apparently caused by taking shallow breaths from the top of chest. I go on to and there are audio things u can listen to one specifically for breathing from ur belly

I too have been experiencing tightness of the chest along with shallow breathing. Its the sensation that i cant gasp for enough air. Its most difficult when trying to take a deep breath. It is the worst feeling, sometimes it feels like my chest is frozen, like i cant feel my breaths. Other times it feels like its sedated, the sensation of numbness. Its worse when i stress. Ive had it for about 2 months also. Ive had many test and blood work and it all comes back normal. I went to my dr on thursday and told him that i was still having this breathing issue so he referred me to get a pulmonary test. So that is scheduled for the 17th of this month. But i hear ya, its the worst feeling, and yes i have it 24/7!

I dont yawn a lot, but when i do, it cuts off mid way, kind of like when youre going to sneeze and it goes away. Its hard to describe but it feels like my chest is not reacting to the yawn. Someone in here called it "frozen chest" and that is exactly what if feels like.
