Hello, since 9 months I started feeling Tightness in the Chest/sternum, heaviness, weakness and sometimes a stuck food or gerd in the Esophagus (with sour taste in the morning). Its from the second i wake up to the moment i go to sleep. Sometimes after i eat this dull pain fades and replaced by stomach fullness. I had Heart tests (EKG, Echocardiography), which came out fine. So the doctors told me my heart is not the problem, but what is? I had a regular chest X-ray without barium which didn't show i have any problem. I don't know if this makes any sense but, i have constipation most of the days, and when i have, feel like the gerd\stuck food is more liqued and can result of some of it in my mouth. I take omperzole for a week now, no improvment.
Would to know about possible problems i might have. Sorry for my english

I too had chest tightness, I felt like I could nt breathe. Other symtoms included bloating, excessive saliva and something stuck in my throat constantly.
My doctor said I had chronic reflux , I was prescribed lansoprazole 30mg, gaviscon, inhaler and antibiotics. As I had a lung infection from acid. I did nt feel better after a month. I went back and lansoprazole was doubled to 60 mg. after 2 months just starting to feel better. Still have burping and bloating after food and drink but not as bad as when first started.
It's the acid causing chest problems, which takes time to calm down and heal. Certain foods and stress seem to make things worse. Keep on with the meds as it took 2 months for me to improve. I felt panic at first as thought I had heart or lung problems.
The more I stressed the worse it got till I knew what was causing it.
