Tight foreskin after infection

Posted , 4 users are following.

So about 1 week ago, my shaft of my penis became very itchy. 2 days later it spread to the balls. 2 days later I noticed getting a tighter foreskin and my entire groin area was itchy to the point I could not sleep, also i noticed white crusty textured lines around the folds of the skin.

Another 2 days later and the itching reduced and I noticed bits of my skin peeling as if I had dandruff on the balls. I thought I had thrush as their was a very small amount of discharge back when I was able to pull my foreskin back. Yesterday, I got a canesten cream and applied it 3 times that day.

My tight foreskin is not causing any problems such as pain however when I try to pee, pee comes out in all directions.

What should I do? Will my condition heal on its own? Will my foreskin return back to normal?

I'm 16 btw

My concern on this would be what has caused the level of itching that you have had. This is not always easy to trace, and is very dependent on your personal circumstances and personal hygiene - it could even be linked to the soap powder or treatment that your clothes and things like bed sheets are washed in.

You could ask whoever washes your clothes whether they have recently changed what washing powder they are using.

Also, I wonder if you had any sexual contact immediately prior to the shaft of your penis becoming itchy - even touching someone else's genitals then soon after touching your own can be sufficient to spread and STI / STD infection?

In terms of seeing a medical professional you do not just have to go see a GP / Regular or Family Doctor, if you live in the UK there are often sexual health sessions that are specifically for young people. If need be, such as if you have had sexual contact recently, you can get simple and regular tests for the most likely problems.

In terms of your tight foreskin, were you able to fully expose the head / glans of your penis prior to you having the itching problem ...... ?

I was not able to fully pull the foreskin back but most of it I could. Now I can only get around 1 cm diameter of the head open. I was able to retract most of my penis just about a year ago. (im 16) Also, I did not have any sexual contact. I have recently changed my fabric conditioner 2 weeks ago however symptoms started 1 week ago and I have used a similar fabric conditioner before. Furthermore, Im not sure if its related or not, but 2 days ago, I have started getting a rash on my chest and cheeks. The rash was itchy and a pharmacist said it may be irritation from new washing powder and she didn't think it was a infection. Lastly, I do keep up to personal hygiene.

Do you still have any of the itchiness of the skin anywhere on the body?

When you state " tight foreskin after infection " - can you clarify what is is you are referring to? Did you have an actual infection, if so how long ago was this? Or, were you simply thinking you had an infection when there actually wasn't a one present?

      .

When you say " I noticed bits of my skin peeling as if I had dandruff on the balls " - this is a very severe reaction to something the skin has been in contact with, you need to discover that actual cause and prevent this from happening in future ....

my foreskin has loosened slightly for the past day. And about the infection, im not sure i have one but i think i might. Also i have no idea what could have caused the reaction.

So a severe change in circumstances can often be the result of something new happening, such as using a soap, shower gel or other form of body wash that you have never used before.

The complication can sometimes be that one thing that has changed may not ALWAYS guarantee that that single change, or thing that has changed is the problem, as sometimes it can trigger what was going to happen eventually anyway - for example, if you had a skin condition developing anyway.

Your original post description details that your genital skin, and, the skin across your body had quite a severe reaction to something - so you mention a change, or a restart in using fabric conditioner. To eliminate this as the potential cause YOU MUST STOP using this when washing clothes, bedding, particularly bed sheets, and towels.

What you need to get into is a situation where everything returns to the way it was before this a of this began to happen for you, so certainly exclude the fabric conditioner first.

Only ever wash the skin on your penis with water - the other thing you need to do is to make sure you are not using a towel that MAY have had the fabric conditioner used on it, or even, was washed around the same time. You may need to buy a new towel that ONLY YOU use - what I did was I bought a pack of face cloths that I use for drying my penile skin with. Then store them so no one else can use them, wash them after a few days of use.

Do NOT apply anything else to your penile skin, certainly not the canesten, DO NOT be tempted to put any kind of skin cream, ointment or anything else that matter onto your penile skin, or even anywhere on your genitals, or even your entire groin region.

Another tip you may need to pass on to whoever washes your clothes, towels and bedding, if you do not do this yourself is to get some Liquid Soap Flakes - this is sold by most large supermarkets, often in their own brand label - this replaces thew normal soap powder or cleaning blocks that are used to wash with. DO NOT add any type of additive, such as fabric conditioner to the wash.

If your skin does not return to normal you may need to get professional help from a Dermatologist to help you overcome what has taken place for your genital, as well as with the skin across your body.

Only ONCE everything is under control and your skin returns to normal will you be able to tell whether you have a Phimosis issue that needs to be addressed. Be warned, that this process can take several months as penile skin skin, once it is irritated / damaged in the way yours is takes much longer to recover that skin elsewhere on your body.
