I have been reading everyone's posts, dont know if everyone is still dealing with issues. I suffer from severe anxiety, occasionally panic attacks, high blood pressure, some depression though seasonal. I've had this lump feeling off and on in my throat for many years. wondering what everyone is doing for it now. mine is going on 3 wks nonstop.

Hello there, im really sorry your going through this right now. I know there is nothing i can say to make the lump feeling go away! But your not alone! I had the tight throat feeling for around 4 months and it took over my life. Luckily i havent had it for ages when it does come on now its only for a few hours rather then months. I started taking citalopram and it seemed to calm my anxiety and take away the feeling! I also did CBT therapy which was good to talk to someone. Jade.

i understand how you feel, i went to a & e a couple of times and to the doctors several times because of this. when they told me it was anxiety i just couldnt believe anxiety was causing this horrible physical feeling. However in my case the anxiety medication and the counselling has worked and now im in a better place mentally the throat feeling has gone. So as hard as it is to believe at the time it turns out the doctors were right! x

Omg what your writing it could literally be me writing it! They also said silent acid reflux for me which it could of been a mix of that and anxiety! And sertraline was the first anxiety tablet they put me on i took one in the evening and i had terrible side affects i felt drunk and sick and then i woke in the night sweating and my arm was twitching uncontrollably and it freaked me right out i never took another again lol! The doctor said i didnt give it enough time but i didnt care no way was i taking another! However Citalopram has given me no side affects what so ever and i can say they have definitely helped me.. maybe give them a go? xx

I've wondered about silent reflux, I do have a lot of stom problems, I take zantac. I just dont think mine feels like a lump it literally feels like something is rubbing on the back of my throat just sitting here. I definitely obsess over it though it has me in a constant panic. I cough and clear my throat a lot too. I'm also on cymbalta but that doesn't really help. I'm just sick of this. I had it last year for months then one day it was gone. how does it just stop after months, who knows.

honestly it took over my life mine weren't so much a lump feeling but more a feeling of really tight throat like as if someone had their hands around my throat all the time squeezing it but obviously they weren't! i only has to lean back against the sofa and just leaning on my back would bring it on! i was just thinking the absolute worst and googling so much! So i no its really hard to to but try not to obsess over it because i swear it made it worse when i sat wondering and thinking about it! Also i didnt trust the doctor i thought they were missing something and i was never happy with it being 'globus' but turns out it was and i just should of listened and not let it take over! if i think about it enough i can bring the feeling on!!

@jade0969 I know that you posted this a year ago and I don't know if you're still suffering issues with globus, but I find it interesting that you said leaning back on the sofa or weight on your back brought it on. I find with mine that if I'm stood up or walking I don't feel it at all, but as soon as I have weight against my back or shoulders I also begin to feel it. I feel particularly it any time I'm sat in my armchair and my chin is tucked down looking at my phone. I also feel it as soon as I lay down in bed.
I've had one GP appointment so far and had a blood test and prescribed omeprazole for suspected silent relfux and I'm on the waiting list to see an ENT specialist.
Hope you're well.

thanks for everyone's reply. I am on cymbalta and I take xanax for my anxiety, I dont know what I'd do without xanax It literally saves my life.
