Tightening Chest pains-seeing cardiologist

Posted , 7 users are following.

I'm 43 yr old.. I've been experiencing the chest pains over a year and been to Er 6 times in one year. Ruled out heart problems. Did stress test, echocardiogram and wore heart monitor 24 hrs. And cardiologist says I'm perfectly fine! And Blood Pressure is good. But the pain scares me and he says it could all be anxiety! Which I suffer also. So I'm so confused because all my blood work is good and I just don't feel well most of the time! I was told in post menopause stage from FSH levels. Just want to know if anyone experiences random chest pains also with peri menopause ??

Hello Trishann. Last year I gradually reduced my HRT until I stopped completely and then I started to suffer menopausal symptoms which were unbearable. Another symptom was chest pains and had investigations that like you ruled out any problems. Because of the menopausal symptoms my GP advised me to start HRT again (thank goodness) and not only did my menopausal symptoms disappear but so has my chest pain. I have no idea why.

      Hi matron

Are you peri or post menopause?

I went six months without a period and got one yesterday! !!!

      Been in peri nine years.

My go is reluctant to give me hrt until my periods have stopped.

What stage did you start hrt?

I thought I was halfway there sadly not.

      I'm suffering debilitating symptoms.

      Thanks x

I do. I also went to the ER for this and was told everything was ok. They thought it might be acid reflux. I don't know if that's what it is or not, but I also seem to have high levels of anxiety and worry over just about everything. Please know you're not alone in this!!

Thank you! It's crazy how our body acts different at a certain time and age. So not used to this! 😕

Hi there. What you're experiencing is the adrenalin in your body over compensating for the changes in your hormones. Normally they are balanced, but as your hormones start going crazy, so does your adrenalin, causing the tightness in the chest. Being anxious produces more adrenalin, making the symptoms worse. I suffer with this too and it is a terrifying nightmare. I've been trying relaxation techniques which sometimes help, but when it feels like a baby elephant is sat on my chest I feel like I'm about to die. My doc says there's nothing to be done, as I'm not menopausal, just peri, and that it will get better eventually. So, I send you my sympathy x

      Hi Michelle

I would say the anxiety and depression has eased.

      The sweats have gone.

I still suffer with burning mouth, headaches every day and heartburn about twice a week.

      Oh and twitching muscles
