Tikosyn side effects

Posted , 3 users are following.

Have been on Tikosyn for 9 months with success except for last 3 I have been experiencing sinus like symptoms , ringing in ears , tooth sensitivity and pain in back of head plus a fuzzy head feeling !

Anyone else experience this ?

Have had symptoms checked out with various specialists who find nothing - hence my thought --COHLD IT BE TIKOSYN RELATED??

    Hi,

why are you on this drug, Dofetilide is quite a 'serious' one with known side effects that can mimic a cold. Get your cardiologist to try something milder?

Have you tried a beta blocker like Bisoprolol.

Hi Dierdra, I've been on Tikosyn for 1 and a half years. The most I get is the runny nose, but I do know that there are other side effects and you could be feeling that. Sometimes side effects can show up later rather than sooner. Change in lifestyle can also affect the drugs you're taking. Tikosyn was the last drug I was put on after many different drugs and failed ablations. But, it was by far the best tolerated by me, so I'm very happy with it, but every body is different. If you think it is the drug, best to go and talk to the cardiologist. There are others that you might tolerate better and be happy with.

I'm not a medical professional but I did look up a possible cause/effect relationship. It seems that "Cardiovascular disease and poor circulation can cause tinnitus because the blood flow to the inner ear is reduced or cut off." At least you can ask your doctor if this is possibly the case with you.
