Time for citalopram to work varies greatly

4-6 weeks for Citalopram to work, well thats whats often said but in reality it can be sooner or later. i took 20mg for 7 weeks to no avail but a further 10 days on 30mg started to work. for me sleep inproved before my mood but it was a sign of the meds working. ive taken these on several occasions previously but i know people find them sickening in the beginning, its worth persevering though as i feel most people get over the common side effects with time and then just get the benefit .

Encutaging. Did you feel a literal shift in your mood?

sort of gradual, noticed one afternoon that i went for a walk and when i came back my mood seemed much better that evening and the next morning, then dipped again but that cycle sort of repeated and the lows where less low. i do feel forcing myself to do some exercise or gardening helps
