hi everyone. i started taking fluoxetine for depression 5 days ago.
i was just wondering when the best time to take it is? i usually take it around lunchtime but i find im still depressed during the day but start to feel better around 7pm should i maybe take it just before bed or as soon as i get up in the morning. i know its not fully kicked in yet but i want to get the right routine so i can get the best out of it.
sorry to ask such silly questions but i dont know where else to turn i did a google search and found this site.

Be prepared for a few ups and downs, but if you hang in there it will eventually help
Hang in there and stay in touch

I tend to take mine as soon as I get up. To start with I experimented with times and found taking it before going to bed ensured I would get no sleep, I was hypersensitive or something at the start according to my GP. All I knew was it made me pace just to give my legs something else to do. This did all calm down after about six weeks though.
I too had that awful taste in my mouth, like I been eating copper! I also found the way things tasted seemed to alter as well but like most things this seemed to pass as well, it was one of the last things to go though.
I have read that flu has a long half life once its into your system so really in theory it shouldn't matter too much about what time you take it as long as it is at a regular interval, being the creature of habit I am I still take mine first thing and that seems to work for me.
Stick with it and keep talking,
Take care,
Paulus.
