Tingling & Discoloration

Hi Everyone!

I am one week post op from an ankle ORIF surgery as of today. My ankle was displaced and fractured from a fall I had on a flight of stairs. I am relieved to have had surgery a week after my fall since the pain is way less compared to before surgery. This recovery has been hard for me mentally since I am a very active independent person. However in the contrary physically there is a small worry that has caught my attention. I have a tingling sensation from the point of incision on my ankle that radiates down to the first two toes on my foot. Along with the sensation I have purple discoloration on the two toes that keeps getting bigger as days pass. I know bruising is normal but was wondering if anyone else had this problem of discoloration on their toes following the surgery? Is this normal?

I am wondering if the tingling sensation is potential nerve damage that will need time to repair? I am just a bit worried because I have read some horrific stories online and I am unsure to seek medical attention or just wait for one more week till my staples are removed? Thank you so much anything helps!

I didn't experience discoloration on my toes from anything other than my Raynaud's. I did experience cramping at my second toe and lots of tingling where it almost felt like burning. This continued after getting my stitches removed 2 weeks post-surgery. When I brought that up it was all considered normal from the incisions and the injury. I was concerned because at time the sensation was quite sharp but it will go away with time. An ice pack behind the knee for 15-20 minutes at a time helps me and is often recommended.
