Tingling numbness sensation

I'm 53 years old and started experiencing menopause symptoms at 51. relatively mind, nothing serious. well this month a few weeks back the top of my left foot and left calf, right hand fingers feel tingly and numb. came on suddenly. just to give you a short background. i do have hypertension, drink alcohol, my oldest son died at 31 2 months ago, his father who was my ex died 2 days later at 56. I'm having marital issues also. wondering if this could be stress related, menopause related, or is my freaking out justified. I'm scared. Anyone have similar symptoms?

Hi Tracy, first of all I'm very sorry for your losses, this must be a very difficult time for you. I get numbness and tingling, also full on painful pins and needles in my hands and feet. i'm 51 and have been getting this for a few years now. With no real diagnosis from my GP, I've been putting it down to peri plus anxiety. Certainly other women report similar during peri/meno. I do suffer with anxiety too, so it could be related to that, its hard to know. I would get it checked out if I were you, to give you some peace of mind. all best xx
