tingling sensations in my hands, arms, legs and feet..

I have recently been diagnosed with HSV1 in the genital area.. on occasion I have noticed tingling or tiny electric sensations in my arms and legs.. and I don't know whether to take medication to prevent an outbreak when I feel these sensations or if I wait until I see symptoms down below? Can anyone help or advise? I desperately don't want another outbreak. I feel awful enough as it is.

The tingling should not be so widespread, but confined to your lower body only, so it seems unlikely that it's related. Even if it somehow is, since it's a recent infection, then it may just be a temporary phase.

I had a dull ache in my tailbone area, then a weird twitching in my right leg in the weeks after, but both went away and were not followed by outbreaks. Think it was just the virus getting comfortable and making its home in my body...

      Hi FelisCatus,

Thank you so much, that's really helped. . Someone else has suggested something like a trapped nerve??

Do you think it's still making itself comfortable after 8 weeks? I wonder how long it takes to settle in.

I guess everyone's different. I think my funny ache and muscle twitches were around the 4 and 6 week mark, respectively. Not sure about a trapped nerve. Could be, but that would presumably be unrelated to GH, as I've not heard of that.

i have question harmony how long did it take for your results to come in?

Symptoms started showing within 3 days of exposure. I went to the doctors on the 3rd day and I got the results within 2 days. Hope this helps.

    Hi Harmony86,

I also experienced shooting pains down my legs and in my feet.  They were pretty painful, but after about two weeks I didn't feel them anymore.  I agree with FelisCatus that it wasp probably just the virus getting comfortable.  Strangely, I almost felt like my skin hurt to the touch on my upper thighs.  I'm still on the tail end of my initial OB, but from what I've read, those types of symptoms don't really reappear.

Yes I remember my skin on my upper thighs was quite tender too! And the shooting pains were so sharp! Someone else has suggested I might have a trapped nerve somewhere? I thought they were supposed to be painful?

I agree they aren't the same symptoms as my initial ob, but they feel 'nervy'. I hope they are nothing to worry about and will go away soon. Thanks for your advice smile

p.s: I hope your feeling better soon too.
