Tinitus anyone.....

Hi all,

Today's topic is Tinitus, from just after the time I damaged my nek I have suffered with this horible squeal.

I have tried all sorts the latest being a "Sound Pillow" it has a speaker inside and I connect my phone to it and currently play a radio station all night on a low volume.

It works great as only the person with their head on the pillow can hear it. I have tried relaxation Zen music and white noise but for me they all work as good as each other.

Do you have any tips that might help...

Helllo Graham...I have Tinnitus in both ears drives me mad. The more you try not to notice it, the louder it seems to be. It started with me about 10 years ago just slight ringing but since being diagnosed with our friend Fibro its gone worse. Both ears with a screaming sound 24/7, and on the odd occasion I have what sounds like a clock ticking its horrible. Mentioned it to the doc on numerous occasions and all he says is get a small radio and put it under your pillow. What is, and where do you have the 'Sound Pillow' from? does it work for you?

    Regards Anne...

Hi. I suffered with tinitus too it's awful. I mentioned it to my doctor and he gave me a blood test to check my Folic acid. It turned out it was very low. I'm now on Folic acid tablets and no more tinitus. Maybe worth getting it checked x

Many pain meds cause tinnitus...I have a low issue some times...right now as I type NONE.

I KNOW grape Seed Extract works and you can google:

    Grape Seed Extract and Tinnitus

I have a dear family member and due to too many drugs pushed on her by her pharma MD, she went thru Sudden Hearing Loss...... She had to have a cochlear implant so she could hear her little children and everyone else....

She now has gone majorally alternative and highly organic in her lifestyle....too much damage done...

The diuretic class of drugs can make this worse too.

I've found that leaving my laptop open (with the screen and keyboard dark) helps me - the white noise it generates happens to neatly counteract the tinnitus. I hadn't even realised that was why I slept better with it open until I read your post and put two and two together, so thank you!

Otherwise, I find I can pretty much ignore it, except when I take my annual hearing test. I find myself clicking on the tinnitus sounds as well as (or instead of) the noises the testing machine makes. Oops!
