Tinnitus

Beta histone, reduction of stress amd diet changes have almost stopped the dizzy attacks. It's the tinnitus that I can't bare. Between the ringing and my bf snoring I'm struggling to sleep some nights. Currently lay on the sofa at 5am, as I can have the tv on to distract from the noise. Is there not any way at all to.stop this ringing. It's driving me crazy

Try Lipo-Flavonoid PLUS. it’s worked wonders for me. It’s a over the counter vitamin available at Walmart, Walgreens & Costco. It took a week for it to kick in for me but no more ringing. Just a slight hum

Thank you. I'm in the UK, I don't think it's available here, but I've just ordered some from the US via eBay. I'm prepared to try anything right now

Have you tried CBD oil from hemp? Ck the internet for tinnitus and CBD. You will find some case histories. Good luck

Hi Sezzp. What dose of betahistine are you on?  I had mine increased by my ent doctor in January from 18 x 3 per day to 24 x 3 and after 3 months the tinnitus has almost disappeared. I sympathise with you as previously my tinnitus was like a jet engine in my head and I was seriously wondering how I could live with this. The ear pressure has completely gone too although this has only been in the last couple of weeks. It seems to me that the pressure is directly related to hearing and tinnitus which suggests that if the Meniere’s is adequately controlled symptoms subside.  My hearing has improved too although I had hearing loss before. There are many people in this group who have much higher doses of betahistine than me to control symptoms.  Another visit to ent to adjust dosage?  Good luck

      I'm only on 16mg x 3.

The last idiot ENT I saw (think he was possibly a junior) wasn't keen to even prolong my prescription for it, said its expensive and as I have very little hearing loss he said it was migraine causing my symptoms. When i asked why do I have ear pressure and tinnitus then, he said 'oh that's MD' 🙄. Never stopped to consider that my hearing was excellent before MD! I used to have compulsory hearing tests with an old job. The nurse always commented about how good my hearing was.

I'm not due another ENT apt for 10 months! Maybe worth me seeing GP and bringing it forwards, like you say

Hello again. I had exactly the same experience as you so I’ll explain what I did. I was fortunate if that’s the right word, to have a friend who’s had Meniere’s for a long time and was able to advise me. He gave me links to specialist Meniere’s clinics attached to university hospitals and I did the research to find one who was easily accessible to me. I made a private appointment for assessment so that my gp would then be guided by an expert and my treatment would be reassuringly accurate. Obviously I had to pay which cost two hundred pounds but my gp then referred me for the 3 month check to monitor my progress. So I am now looked after by a clinic with specialists in balance and vestibular disorders which makes me a lot happier than I was under the local ent and gp. My gp didn’t know what a neurotologist did and why should she? My argument has always been that you see an oncologist for cancer etc.  Sorry for the ramble but I feel your frustration having been there myself.

Hi again. Thank you so much for this advise. I will definitely speak to my go as I would rather pay to see someone who actually knows what they're talking about than waste my time getting nowhere with ent and potentially causing more damage to my ear because I am not being treated correctly

Hi sezzp. I really understand what you are going through! I The ringing for me is still really bad since my last Menieres attack. It fluctuates so much. I just started trying the CBD oil. I tried it during the day and it makes no difference for my tinnitus except makes me tired. So now I am taking it at night. The noise is still there but it definitely allows me to sleep better.

Hope you find something that will work for you. I really appreciate everyone sharing and providing great resources!  I don't feel so alone.

I have noise every moment I am awake. Sometimes it pretty awful, but I have learned to ignore it. It's the fullness I can't stand because it increases my deafness. It is definitely affected by barometric pressure.

I'm so glad to see someone else relate barometric pressure to some of our symptoms. I've been having fullness and slight brain fog for the last 3 days. Our barometric pressure has been below our normal average. It has been at 29.8 for a while now in Anchorage, Alaska.

My heart Dr told me today that blood pressure pills can cause tinnitus. Has anyone heard this before?
