Does anybody have tinnitus which affects the top of there head, like it's going to explode. Also very sensitive to other sounds like knives & forks on plates. My ears also feel full it's driving me mad today.

Sheila.

Hi Sheila, I have the same thing. The ringing doesn't bother me that much in the day it's at night when I notice it. Ears also very sensitive. I think mine is caused by taking antidepressants.

Oh god I hope I'm not stuck with it maybe it damages your ears! I also take propranolol but I don't think it's that. Have you been to ENT I've got an appointment next month, but I'm not sure if there is any point it seems to be one of those things you just have to live with unfortunately!

Hi Amy,sorry I've only just got back to you. Went back to doctor when I came back from holiday anxiety not good. He put me on Escitalopram but said it would take two or three weeks to work.Tinnitus no better, when it's bad it seems to come with pressure in head & ears.Anxiety does seem to make it worse.Hope your feeling better. Did you see the E.N.T. specialist?

      Best Wishes Sheila.

      Hi Sheila,

Yes I went to ENT hearing test was fine. Just said tinnitus nothing can be done. Maybe my citalopram, but maybe not. Not very helpful to be honest. I've started getting fluttering too it's awful very annoying!! The ringing only bothers me at night or when I'm on my own and it's quiet. Like you I also feel pressure like my ears are blocked when the ringing gets louder. My anxiety is bad too, but it's not that causing the tinnitus I'm sure.

Hi Sheila...I have tinnitus as well and I'm totally deaf in that ear. Lately I have been having bad headaches that are kind of towards the top of my forehead and back and my temples will hurt as well. Also along with it my bad ear will ache periodically as if I might have an ear infection. Primary care doc said no infection but by neurotologist/ENT called me some drops in anyway and said if they don't help then schedule an appt. I also have Menieres so who knows which it all could be related to...I just know I'm tired of it. I've never had headaches this often in my whole life. As I sit here typing this, now that I'm paying attention it does seem to be more the top of my head that is hurting. Maybe sinus/allergy related or the pressure in the ear...who knows!
