Tinnitus returns

My tinnitus was triggered three years ago by having my ears syringed .Since then it has gradually improved to the point that Im almost in denial. Ive just travelled to Australia with no tinnitus effects because of my noise cancelling earphones. however, i was foollish enough to go to the shopping malls on Boxing Day and the noise of the crowds for one hour only has triggered the worst tinnitus ever! Strangely i went there two days before Christmas and the noise must gave been a bit less because i had no side effects at all. Has anyone else had this problem and will the tinnitus goeventually, as it has in the past? i am on no medication for anything.

    Hi Hilary,

Like you, my Tinnitus began after I had my ears syringed at my local GP surgery in Nov 2017. Mine has eased a lot as immediately after the syringing it was like having a roaring lion in each ear. When mine is giving me problems I resort to listening to rain dropping in a forest. It soothes and reduces my tension. I have seen a specialist and the advice is that it is unlikely to go away. I am now in my 80th year so I don't expect to have any medical or surgical intervention, just try not to get too tense is my moto. Listen to your favourite music ,that also works for me. If my condition changes for the better I will let you know.

    Good Luck
