I have a tiny bump in my eyelid that is painless and doesn't sting. is this contagious? I previously wore mascara but I've been using the same brand ever since so I know i don't have a reaction to it image

Hi Nana, its a blocked meibomian gland. You could try just leaving it alone or try using a cotton bud dipped in vaseline to gently rub over it and it will gradually disappear. Use good quality vaseline ,not the cheap stuff. If it should become larger it may start irritating you eye. If this happens do see your doctor.
Its not a reaction to mascara but mascara can block these tiny glands after a while . Try going without mascara for a while and see if any more bumps come up. If you start to experience a dry eye/s then you may have to stop using mascara.
These glands supply the essential oil that bathes your eyes,so its essential to keep them clean and unblocked.
