Tiny white spot in the dead-center of my vision making it hard to read.

Does any one know what eye problem generates a very small, white, cloude-like spot in the dead-center of your vision that makes reading hard? I thought it was a cataract, but I just had cataract surgery and that did nothing to remove it.

Over two and a half months I went from being close to 20/20 vision to 20/200. Cataract surgery got me down to 20/80. I think this cloud, and silicone oil from a retina detachment, are the only things keeping me from getting back to 20/20.

When ever vision got worse, I would fill the silicone oil in the eye when I got up in the morning, and when I stopped taking my prescribed eye drops, vision stopped getting worse. I'm just trying to put a name to it to give my retina specialist. Cataract/inflammation were the only things they came up with before surgery.

I Google imaged 149 eye problems, but didn't find any with images of vision looking the way I see it.

I suggest you consult the Retina Spec to exclude AMD and advise further.

    Wishing you all the best/

I'm so glad I've read your story!

I had exactly the same 2 months ago and it became such a problem I thought I would have to give up my job as I just couldn't see all the figures on invoices I was inputting. I managed to get an appointment as my eye sight had deteriorated so quickly and was told I have cataracts! My symptoms (the white spot in the centre of my vision) have now gone and I can see as well as before ( still not great cos I'm very short-sighted). What I have been confused about is that my symptoms were not what I had read about cataracts. I'm now on a waiting list for surgery but don't think there is any rush now. I'm sorry I don't have an answer but mine did only last about four weeks.
