Tips for helping posterior prolapse bulge more comfortable
Posted , 4 users are following.
Hi new to this forum. Been told for past four years I had a prolapse. Due to fibroids and benign tumour had a total vaginal hysterectomy last September. The assisstant to consultant made a decision not repair prolapse as none of my symptoms seemed related. Now a year down the line my bowel has fallen into vagina wall. I have been refered back to gynae so on a 12 week waiting list for consultation. Today I have had to come home from work early as the uncomfortable bulge has been at its worst. It is protuding outside vagina. Gentle pushing has helped slightly but concerned about exposure and rubbing on liners. Also any tips to help make things more comfortable appreciated.

Hi Ragnar,
Have you been referee to a physiotherapist specialised in pelvic floor to strengthen up your pelvic floor muscles before surgery? You can also get a ring (pessary) fitted to hold up the prolapsed walls which should give you some relief from that dragging ache during the day.
Maybe try speaking to your GP and explaining it's getting so bad that you're having to take time off work and is there any chance that you vould maybe get a quicker appointment with consultant if their are any cancellations.
Hope this helps and hope you get your appointment soon.
Take care and rest plenty between shifts.

thanks for your advice thought I would probably just have to grin and bear it until consultation. I do have referal for physio but not had word back yet for that. Will call doctor first thing in morning for appointment and ask for bit more help.
Thanks again

Hi
I was recommended and used "Yes" oil based lubricant which I rubbed over the bulge and inserted via applicator. It really helped stop the exposed skin drying out. i used it whenever it felt dry and sore.

thanks for tip. Will go out and buy some.
Got a call back from doctor today advising going back to see original one next week and if she thinks it is worse since last examination she can refer me again as urgent case. He said to use E45 but will take your tip .
Thanks again
