Tips on dealing with fatigue after anxiety/ panic
Posted , 4 users are following.
Sometimes when I go through a period of heightened anxiety or panic I feel drained. Like no motivation to do anything. I am tired but I cannot fall asleep. Pretty much being lazy.
I’m accepting of this but does anyone have tips on how they deal with this issue?

Hi,
Yes I know the feeling as well. But I'm not sure you should feel anxious about it.
Sometimes you need to be easy on yourself, and accept that you need time to relax and to recover. If you have something to do in this time, then it can be productive - like I play on the electric piano (with headphones) to relax.
All the best,
Jonathan

lol this was me today, I thought I was having an allergic reaction and panicked 😂 let’s deal with this together. After sitting like a zombie for 20m after, I decided to grab some water, talk to colleagues about work stuff (distraction), I watched some Beyoncé clips, reminded myself that I’m just fine and then ate a granola bar. It’s ok to feel a little tired after because it means you are ALIVE and your body is strong.

I love reading others replies, they can be so nice.
I totally agree. I often feel worn out after times of heightened stress and though I know exercise is good for you, I honestly don't have the energy to do it. Instead I'll do some puzzles, listen to music and just breathe. Those without anxiety don't always understand exactly how draining it can be but it really can leave you out of sorts so be kind to yourself. If you want to just do nothing then do nothing. Tomorrow is a new day and I always try to be optimistic that it will be better :-)
