This is my 3 day on antibiotics after been in pain for 5 days, so I am feeling a bit better, but I have not sleeped for 3 days. If I breath through my mouth it drys up in mins and the second I fall asleep my mouth opens, then I am coughing again.

Can you choke or would you wake up?

tonsilitus is horrid i have vivid memeory of the pain when i had it at 14 40yrs ago

i just used cool cloths on my neck and slept on my side on raised pillows so i wasnt totaly flat a bag of frozen peas in a pillow case will sit on the neck and help ease things .

i went thru it due to parental neglet without any pain relief or antibiotics .and it never killed me so you should be fine the body is good and warning you ,when something is wrong other wise you wouldnt wake up for a pee would you .

takes about 10 days before your really on the mend but dont push your self to hard ,let yourself recover properly.

    Hi John

you should wake up if you start to choke when you are sleeping, as it is your bodies natural reaction. But it is when you wake, as you try to get your breathing and your breath back.

For many years I to choke in my sleep. Not only that I regularly have the same issues when I'm awake as well.

I don't if you have the same problem and sometimes when you start to eat or drink you start to to choke regardless.

But at night I use extra pillows to prop myself up. What I also did in the past was use a wooden wedge to the size of the pillow, but not to high, only to raise by around 30 degrees.

I hope this helps, but look at other ideas that you, but this is what works for me.

Hope all goes well...and good luck.
